Lechia Gdansk from Ekstraklasa fell in extremely dramatic circumstances. The team lost the chance to stay in the league only in the last round, in which it lost 2:3 to the last team in the table, Bruk-Bet Termalice Nieciecza, and took 16th place. However, the team would not have been relegated if it had not been for the five points deducted before the season for financial arrears. The club did not accept the penalty and after the season called it in a special statement: unlawful. Lechia Gdansk will pursue its rights by all available legal means. PZPN's statements are misleading the public. Lechia Gdansk appealed the decision to deduct points to the Court of Arbitration for Sport at the Polish Olympic Committee on May 30, 2025. The court lifted the transfer ban and allowed the registration of players on September 17 of that year. However, it refused to restore the five points. In this situation, the club filed a cassation complaint with the Supreme Court and considered bringing the case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne. According to the club, from February to April, UEFA joined the dispute, taking actions to amicably resolve the dispute. Lechia Gdansk is convinced that PZPN is not telling the truth and will fight for its rights. The club from Gdańsk is ready to pursue its rights before the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne. PZPN did not agree to refer the case to CAS, which Lechia Gdansk finds incomprehensible. Lechia Gdansk will continue to fight for its rights and is convinced that it will ultimately emerge victorious.
