Lechia Gdansk has been relegated to Betclic 1. Liga. The owner of the Pomeranian club, Paolo Urfer, released a statement expressing his faith in the team's future. Lechia Gdansk had a chance to stay in the top tier for another season, but the 2:3 loss to Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza in the last round of the previous campaign meant they finished third from the bottom in the league table. Paolo Urfer, the main representative of Lechia's management, said that his involvement in the club has never been temporary. A football club is created by both victories and defeats, and its future is built through consistent work, responsibility, and faith in the chosen direction. Lechia Gdansk will continue to work on the sports, organizational, and financial development of the club, taking into account its future, its fans, and the entire white-green community. The owner confirmed that both he and MADA Global Fund remain committed to supporting Lechia in the long term. Lechia, like any professional football club, operates on the international football market and maintains sports and business relationships with various clubs, partners, and individuals involved in the football industry. One such club is Valmiera. Cooperation with Valmiera, also in the field of selected player transfers, has a standard market character and takes place on the same principles as cooperation with other clubs. The case regarding the decision of the Polish Football Association to deduct points is currently the subject of proceedings before the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne. The club has already publicly informed about this matter and awaits the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne, which will be important for further evaluation of the club's sports situation. Regardless of the outcome of this proceeding, Paolo Urfer emphasized that his support for Lechia Gdansk remains unchanged. The functioning of Lechia does not rely solely on owner support, but also on revenue from matches, sponsors, business partners, revenue from player transactions, and above all, fan engagement.
