Lechia Gdańsk had planned to sell 24‑year‑old striker Tomas Bobcek to Frosinone for about €15 million, including bonuses. The club was set to receive one of the highest sums in its history, given its position in the lower tier of the Ekstraklasa. Previously, Lechia had rejected offers in the €6‑10 million range, indicating a potential for a lucrative deal.
However, a recent unexpected turn has emerged. Karolina Jaskulska, citing a journalist who covers Frosinone, announced on X that Bobcek does not wish to move to the Italian club. The player’s decision changes the situation, as the transfer cannot proceed without his consent.
Consequently, Lechia Gdańsk will not receive the anticipated financial boost. On the other hand, 25 % of the fee will go to Ruzomberok, Bobcek’s former club. Although the club may still negotiate with other teams, Frosinone is currently not the destination the player wants.
