Lechia Gdansk lost six of their last seven Ekstraklasa matches. Although Carvera's team needed just one win to stay in the league - against Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza in the last round - the Gdansk players were unable to achieve it. As a result, Lechia will play in the I liga next season. Immediately after relegation, Lechia released a statement announcing that the club had actually finished the Ekstraklasa season in 12th place in the table, and the decision to deduct 5 points was made by the PZPN "illegally". Paolo Urfer still believes that the club can recover these points before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne. Lechia still considers itself an Ekstraklasa club, which is also evident in other club activities. TVP Sport reported that the Gdansk players... did not transfer their shares in Ekstraklasa SA to Wieczysta Krakow. "On Wednesday in Warsaw, a general meeting of Ekstraklasa SA shareholders took place, in which representatives of all clubs participated. It is a good tradition that a falling club transfers a proxy to one of the newcomers, so that they, before becoming shareholders in July, can participate in the meetings." - we read. "In this way, the proxy of Wisla Krakow was transferred to Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza, and Arka Gdynia to Slask Wroclaw. Thanks to this, the representatives of Wisla and Slask were able to participate in the Wednesday meetings. In the voting, however, the representative of Wieczysta, Lukasz Scigalski, could not participate. It turned out that Lechia Gdansk did not transfer the proxy to the Krakow club. Lechia had already informed the league authorities that it would not provide Wieczysta with a proxy or participate in the meetings." - adds the service. TVP Sport assures that Wieczysta's promotion to Ekstraklasa is not at risk. "The club's participation in Ekstraklasa is not related to the ownership of shares. It will be separate standard corporate actions, taken in accordance with the annual procedure." - we read. Lechia's actions can only be described as a circus. It seems that the Gdansk club's officials have not achieved anything in this way, except for growing discontent among the entire Polish football community.
