Lechia Gdansk have announced their squad for a training camp in Wola Chorzelowska, with former captain Rifet Kapic once again omitted from the 25-man list. The 31-year-old, who has played just once this season, was also absent from the matchday squads before the international break, fuelling ongoing speculation about his departure.

Manager Władysław Łupaszko has called up players including Szymon Weirauch, Wojciech Buła, Wojciech Madej and Danyło Beskorowajnyj. Jakub Adkonis and Axel Holewiński are set to join the group on Wednesday or Thursday. The camp also features youth-team players Kacper Cwajda, Igor Gurdziński, Michał Waśniowski and Karl Wendt, who spent the spring on loan at Swedish side Östers IF.

Kapic's Absence

Kapic's absence follows his attempts to force a move after the club's relegation from the top flight. Recent negotiations have taken place with clubs from the United Arab Emirates, Al-Jazira, Al-Ain and Al-Wasl.

Meanwhile, Lechia have found momentum without their former captain. The team won their last two matches, including a stunning 7-1 victory over Stal Mielec on 19 September, and climbed to eighth place in the table, closing in on the playoff spots.

The training camp will run until next Monday, 4 October. The first test after the break is an away fixture against Stal Rzeszów on 12 October. Two weeks later, on Sunday 18 October at 20:30, Lechia will face Arka Gdynia in the Tricity derby.
