Vanja Milinkovic-Savic Joins Lechia Gdansk
Serbian teenager Vanja Milinkovic-Savic has joined Polish club Lechia Gdansk following a brief and challenging stint at Manchester United. The 18-year-old goalkeeper signed for the Red Devils just over a year ago but faced significant obstacles in obtaining a work permit, leading to his departure.
Milinkovic-Savic's journey with Manchester United was marked by difficulties. He could not secure a loan move or find a club where he could train regularly due to the complications surrounding his work permit. The situation eventually led him to terminate his contract with the English giants.
‘I had to go to Manchester, but there is a problem with a work permit in England,’ Milinkovic-Savic told the Lechia website. ‘The case dragged on, unfortunately. I couldn’t find a club where I could be loaned to. I decided to terminate the contract with Manchester United. I am glad that I was able to come to an agreement with Lechia.’
