New Defender in Lechia
Lechia Gdańsk officially welcomed Ukrainian left‑footed defender Danylo Beskorowajnyj to its squad. The 194‑cm player arrived in Gdańsk on Monday 17.08.2026 after difficulties leaving Ukraine. Tuesday 18.08.2026 he was presented as a new Lechia player. Beskorowajnyj was acquired on a permanent transfer from Polissa Żytomierz and signed a contract valid until the end of June 2029. Transfermarkt values him at 800,000 euros.
Experience and Career
The defender has played in the Ukrainian and Czech top leagues, and most recently was loaned to Azerbaijani side Sumqayit PFK, where he appeared in 16 matches. In 2019 he was world champion in the under‑20 category with the Ukrainian national team, and with FC Astana he won the Kazakh championship. He has previously played for clubs such as Krywbas Krzywy Róg, Szachtar Donieck, Wołyń Łuck, DAC 1904 Dunajska Streda, Zeleziarne Podbrezova and FC Astana.
Training and Preparations
In the Tuesday training, Samuel Kopasek participated, who had to leave the field in the 38th minute in the match against Ruch Chorzów due to injury. It has been confirmed that the injury is not serious and the right‑footed defender from Slovakia will be ready to play in the match against Pogoń Siedlce at the Polsat Plus Arena in Gdańsk (21.08.2026, 20:30). Lechia also trained other new players: Axel Holewiński, Artur Szach, Kevin Dodaj.
Defensive Reinforcement
Beskorowajnyj’s presence in the squad will certainly strengthen the white‑green defense from the match against Pogoń Siedlce, as junior players Wojciech Madej and Antoni Ziółkowski had recently appeared in that team. Lechia will be ready for the match against Pogoń Siedlce on 21.08.2026 at 20:30.
